Busy Mom’s Skin Care RoutineBusy Mom’s Skin Care Routine

Now that I am cruising through my 30’s I am starting to make sure that I take care of my skin.  Here is my busy mom skin care routine for healthy skin. I wish I could go back to when I was in my 20’s and start then, but I can’t.  I had lots of years of being in the sun, never using moisturizer and falling asleep in my makeup.  My skin is super sensitive and reacts to products easily.  I have normal to combination skin, I tend to be more oily in the summer and little drier in the winter.  I also have melasma currently on my forehead. The following products I have found to work for my skin without causing irritation and have improved my skins texture and hyper-pigmentation.

Osea Cleansing Milk

My skin tends to get irritated from face cleansers. I have tried too many that I have lost count.  The routine starts with Osea Cleansing Milk cleanser is formulated with Organic Algae and Water Lily which leaves my skin without any redness or irritation. Delicate Rose and Cassie Flowers soften skin. DPHP, an amino acid compound, helps visibly minimize fine lines and wrinkles and promotes a more supple looking appearance. My skin is left soft, clean and soothed. This product has done wonders for my skin.

L’Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise Eye Defense Cream

This eye cream is a must have for me. I use this in the morning and night. It is budget friendly and is so lightweight that a little bit goes far.  This eye cream does it all, it reduces puffiness and darkness as well as fine lines.  This cream doesn’t cause any irritation or redness.  Feels great when applied and dries fast if you use in the morning before makeup. This is the only cream that i will ever use and a staple of my skin care routine.

SkinCeuticals Retinol .5 Refining Night Cream

This year I have joined in on the retinol band wagon, and I’m glad I did.  It is on the pricey side, but it is worth it. This product is meant to be used at night because retinol makes your skin more sensitive to the sun.  Again, a little of this product goes a long way.

I have been using this product for the last few months, and I am still working on my first tube. Retinol products have never been part of my skin care routine before and they can cause peeling, irritation, redness etc if you use too much too quickly.  I started using a pea size amount, 2 nights a week and gradually increased to nightly use.

Make sure wait a half hour or so before putting on your moisturizer.  Don’t mix any other skin care products with this cream because it would be too much for your skin. I never experienced any irritation with this because I started slowly.  The benefits of this have been amazing.  My skin texture is more smoothed and even toned. My skin looks brighter and healthy. This product is a winner for this busy mom.
